Delegation from the Senate of the Czech Republic visits Malta between the 29th September and the 2nd October 2009
A Delegation from the Senate of the Czech Republic - (EU Affairs Committee) had meetings in Malta with leading political personalities including The President of Malta Dr George Abela, The Prime Minister of Malta, The Hon. Dr Lawrence Gonzi, The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Dr Tonio Borg, The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Louis Galea., The Leader of the Opposition Hon. Dr Joseph Muscat and the EU and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Maltese Parliament lead by Chairman Dr Michael Frendo. The delegation also had a meeting with Hon Dr Carm Mifsud Bonnici Minister of Justice and Home Affairs.
During the meetings various topics of mutual interest were discussed including the EU Constitution, Illegal migration and co-operation between National Parliaments of Malta and the Czech Republic.
