The Consulate of the Czech Republic in Malta has contacted all English Language Schools in Malta and Gozo who have foreign Students under their care during the summer months. This Consulate has noted a marked increase in the reporting of lost or stolen Czech Passports in the month of July. The Consulate insisted with the school officials that students should not leave their residence (hotel or family accommodation) carrying their passport or ID Cards. These should be kept in a safe place and only used on the day of travel. Student can carry (if need be) a photo copy of their passport or ID card. These should also carry with them small amount of loose cash, especially when they are going on the beech or in other public places. The Consulate made it very clear that the procedure for the issue of Emergency Passports for traveling back home has changed and a longer application period was necessary.
