Czech Republic's Ambassador to Malta H.E. Vladimir
Ambassador Vladimir Zavazal outgoing Czech Ambassador to Malta has recently met Malta Government Officials at the end of his post as Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Malta. The meetings were held with HE The President of Malta Dr George Abela,The Prime Minister Dr Lawrence Gonzi, The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Tonio Borg and the Pernmanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr J.P. Grech.
During his stay in Malta H.E. Zavazal also hosted drinks to bid farewell to His colleagues in the local Diplomatic Corps and various Government Officals at a reception held at the Phoenicia hotel. During the event the Ambassador honoured Dr.Herbert Messina Ferrante for his outstanding efforts in promoting Czech - Maltese relations. The Ambassador presented him with the Jan Masaryk Medal of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Dr Messina Ferrante.
Ambassador Zavazal's last engagement in Malta was to honour ”Adina Mandlova”(1910-1991), on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of her demise.This Czech Film Actress that lived in Balzan between 1967 to 1981.Ambassador Zavazal placed a wreath infront of a commemorative plaque erected in her honour some years ago next to the house where she lived. Present for this event was the Deputy Major of Balzan, Dr & Mrs.Messina Ferrante, Mr Jiri Kratky, First Secretary at the Czech Embassy in Rome and Tonio Casapinta Honorary Consul General of the Czech Republic in Malta
